This refurbishment project within Robertson Barracks provided a significant upgrade to the northern gymnasium facilities within a live base environment. Works comprised a significant upgrade and refurbishment of an existing gym, and involved our teams working closely with the client to undertake design and construct methodology to rectify issues with the existing gym roof; improving buildability and resolving a preexisting drainage issue. Scope of works also included the refurbishment with the following scope:
- Replacement of 4,000m2 roof and wall cladding, including replacement of entire roof including the re-engineering of gutters, valleys downpipes, and dilapidated soffit sections ensuring insulation complies with NCC 2022 BCA Section J requirements
- Complete replacement of the gymnasium sports Floor and walls including an upgrade to comply with NCC 2022 BCA Section J requirements
- Application of waterproof membrane to heavyweight blockwork walls to form vapour barrier.
- Architectural refresh including ceilings and partitions, painting, joinery replacement, window seal works.
- Upgrade of existing amenities
- Decommissioning and replacement HVAC systems throughout and the installation of new Chiller and chilled water system with Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- New and upgraded Fire Detection, Building Occupant Warning System (BOWS) upgrades
- New and upgraded BMS systems and infrastructure
- Electrical services upgrades.
