J0091 was the inaugural project for the NACP Projects partnership. The works provided new garaging, storage facilities, upgraded training and testing areas along with associated support infrastructure systems for the introduction of the new Striker firefighting vehicles at seven different military bases.
Following the staged completion of works over a five-year period, the new facilities (listed below) played a key support role in introducing the new fleet of Land 998 Phase 1 firefighting vehicles into service.
Garaging
- Carport structures consisting of single, two, three and four vehicle variants, inclusive of 240-volt chargers to meet Land 998 Basis of Provisioning (BOP) requirements
Storage
- Dry Chemical Powder (DCP) storage sheds
- Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) storage sheds
- Secure containers for the storage of encrypted field communications equipment
Testing
- Foam testing facilities to accommodate routine maintenance testing of AFFF production in both the newly acquired Stryker and existing Panther Fire Fighting Variants
- The bunded facilities were designed and constructed to ensure 100% capture and containment of all AFFF liquid and foam discharged during testing
- The facilities required Certification to the 2017 Defence Pollution Prevention Management
- Manual for the capture and management of AFFF, the first facilities to undertake this process
Training
- Training facility for the discharge and capture of DCP, including vacuum for clean-up and capture
