A9019 Land 155 Enhanced Gap Crossing Facilities Project WP2

About This Project

LAND 155 is a materiel project that will provide the Australian Army with an Enhanced Gap Crossing Capability (EGCC) through the acquisition of Military-off-the-Shelf (MOTS)/Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) bridging solutions. The LAND 155 EGCC will replace the existing Medium-Girder and Floating Support Bridge capabilities with a new Medium-Girder Bridge (MGB) and Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) respectively. Bridge Erection Propulsion Boats (BEPB) to support the facilitation of IRB operations, will be refurbished from the existing fleet.
The Dry Support Bridge (DSB) and Foot Bridge (FB) will be introduced as new capabilities.

This project relates to the facilities requirement for the LAND 155 material procurement. The scope for this project comprises the following Works Packages:

a. Works Package 1 (WP1) – Refurbishment of existing shelters and hardstand at Robertson Barracks (NT), using a Medium Works (MW) Contract; and

b. Works Package 2 (WP2) – New shelters and hardstand at Liverpool Military Area (NSW), Wallangarra (QLD) and Lavarack Barracks (QLD), using a Head Contractor (HC) Contract.
The project will provide functional and flexible purpose-built facilities and improved infrastructure at each of the locations referred to above. This will enable the affected units to maintain and sustain their operational capability efficiently and effectively. It will also deliver a sustainable outcome for the Defence Estate by maximising adaptive reuse of existing facilities, consolidating buildings and functions, and extending and upgrading existing infrastructure.
